Another excellent event by Holyhead Sailing Club…
Holyhead Sailing Club are proud hosts of the 2017 Squib Nationals Championships. Our aim is to deliver an affordable, competitive and entertaining event.
HSC has an excellent track record of successfully delivering UK and European events, including the Etchells UK and European regattas, as well as two previous Squib Nationals championships.
Those of you who have visited or sailed at Holyhead will know that we are an extremely friendly bunch, both on and off the water, the clubhouse is welcoming and well equipped to cater for your every need.
The Championship will be held in Holyhead bay, also known locally as “HolyMed” because of the stunning natural scenery and excellent open water.
Competition will be fierce at the top, however kind waters and limited tides provide rewarding sailing for all ages, fitness levels and experience, combined with an outstanding Race Officer and team, in the form of David Lovegrove, means that crews can look forward to an excellent regatta.
Special rates with Stena Line have also been secured, hopefully this will encourage more of our great friends from across the Irish Sea to attend? It is our aim to deliver an affordable, competitive and entertaining event.
Ashore the entertainment will be relaxed with plenty to do in terms of eating, drinking and socialising with fellow competitors, however those with the appetite to continue into the wee hours will also be catered for.
Squibbers and their families looking for a quieter shore-based experience will not be disappointed, with ample activities to suite all tastes, or just enjoy the stunning coastline.
Situated in the North West of Wales, 65 nautical miles from Dublin, Holyhead is perfectly located to entice competitors from across the UK and Ireland.
